Scope and Contents

Color images of the front of the Eunice and James L. West Library showing that all of the brickwork, save that around the entranceto the building has been completed. Some photoso show the reflection fo the building in the windows of the Brown-Lupton Campus Center, which is just east of the library. There are images of Dan Waggoner Hall, Polytechnic Baptist Church, Ann waggoner Hall, and the Ann Waggoner Fine arts Building included as well.

Scope and Contents Photos of the Dedication of the Eunice and James L. West Library, which took place on October 21, 1988 in front of the library. The keynote speaker for the event was H. Ross Perot. Additional speakers included Dr. Jerry G. Bawcom, President of teh College, as well as Dr. W. L. Hailey, Provost, and Douglas M. Ferrier, Dean of the Library. Content Description

A collection of photos and negatives of the construction of the Eunice and James L. West Library. The collection includes photos of the very beginning of construction moving through the other stages up to the construction of the ranges of shelving at the end. There are images of the Judge George W. Armstrong Library and pictures of the moving of the library collection from the Judge George W. Armstrong Library to the West Library as well. The photographer is unknown.

Content Description Texas Wesleyan College held two separate events to celebrate the opening of the Eunice and James L. West Library in October 1988. The first event was an All-Campus Party, which was held in front of the library on October 20, 1988. The second event was the Dedication Ceremony, which took place on October 21, 1988.This collection includes one folder of slides from the All-Campus Party on October 20 and one folder of slides from the Dedication of the Eunice and James L. Content Description

This collection includes photos of the exterior of the building taken both during the day and at night, as well as interior photos taken during the day. All of the photos appear to date from the fall of 1988. The interior photographs include some students and library staff from that time.
