Historical Note
The Texas Wesleyan University School of Law was founded in 1990 as the Dallas-Fort Worth School of Law. The first classes were held in August 1990. The school was unacredited when it opened. When the American Bar Associaiton conducted its first accreditation site visit at the school in early 1991, the visting team recommended, among other things, that the school commence negotiating a merger with a local university. In 1992, the Dallas-Fort Worth School of Law was purchased by Texas Wesleyan Univeristy and began operating under the namw Texas Wesleyan University School of Law. The school was fully accredited by the American Bar Association in 199?. Texas Wesleyan University sold the Law School to Texas A & M Universty in 2013.
