The 2011 commemorative edition included in this accession was issued to correct an error in the cover story in the Spring 2011 issue of the magazine, which was about the hiring of Frederic G. Slabach to serve as president of Texas Wesleyan. A copy of this issue was sent to all alumni and friends and was accompanied by a letter written by Chuck Burton, Assistant Vice President for Marketing and Communications explaining the reason for the commemorative issue.

These issues were collected by Louis Sherwood and his wife, Mary Ann, both Texas Wesleyan graduates with a BA in History. A copy of the commemorative issue was sent to each of them. The accession includes the envelopes they were sent in as well as the letter written by Chuck Burton, Assistant Vice President for Marketing and Communications explaining the reason for the commemorative issue.
