This book includes a history of the home economics program, photocopies of newspaper clippings publications and programs related to the Home Economics program as well as biographical information on and current photos of some home economics graduates. Many of the biographical information sheets include the graduates' memories of Martha Smith, describing the kind of person she was and, to an extent, her teaching style.

An address label for Katherine H. Cunningham is pasted inside the front cover. Mrs. Cunningham is a 1943 graduate of the Texas Wesleyan College. This item was originally donated to the archives at Polytechnic United Methodist Church, presumably by Mrs. Cunningham. It was transferred to the Special Collections and University Archives by the church archivist, Mrs. Jean H. Traster, because she believes this is the more appropriate home for it.
