Biographical / Historical

The Texas And Pacific Project was suggested in 1947 to the Bureau of Business Research in the College of Business Administration to survey the counties services by the Texas and Pacific Railway so as to further the economic development of the region as well as to bring together available material on area resources which might be used to establish new businesses or expand existing businesses. Once all the information on a county was brought together, it was analyzed and compiled into a comprehensive report which was published by the Texas and Pacific Railway and sent to the University of Texas for distribution.

The project also worked in Louisiana, but the collection only has the Texas portion.
