Frasquita, 1935 - 1936
Scope and Contents
Holograph in pencil, revisions in pencil.
"Frasquita" is an operetta composed by Franz Lehar and premiered in Vienna in 1922. Fritz Kreisler transcribed the serenade from the operetta for violin and piano. Anson's "Frasquita is a transcription of Kreisler's but for two pianos.
A transcription is the adaptation of a piece of music for a medium orther than that for which it was originally composed. Sometimes 'transcription' means a rewriting for the same medium but in a style that is easier to play.
